Aberdeen partners Weave Living to buy six Tokyo residential properties
The properties being acquired were secured off-market through Weave Living. Comprising a total of 275 residential units, all six properties were completed between 2023 and 2026. They are located across various wards in main Tokyo, throughout a 10-minute walk of the nearest railway terminal.
Aberdeen Investments is buying six properties in Tokyo in collaboration with Hong Kong-based rental lodging dealer Weave Living.
The residential properties are being obtained on behalf of a European financier that is a continued partner of Aberdeen in the region, the global asset executive mentioned in an Aug 17 launch. The deal worth was not revealed.
5 of the assets will be run as furnished versatile rental flats under Weave Place– a brand handled by Weave Living. The 6th asset will continue to be operated as a traditional built-to-rent non commercial property.
“As component of the increased development of our integrated living sector-focused funds administration service in Japan and across Asia Pacific, we are delighted to publicize this project with Aberdeen Investments,” stated Sachin Doshi, founder and chief executive officer of Weave Living.
The properties will accommodate growing interest for flexible living services in Japan, said Harumi Kadono, Aberdeen’s director of Japan realty. “Partnering with Weave Living offers us a qualified supervisor on the ground in Tokyo and enables us to satisfy that demand with a genuinely distinguished rental product,” he added.
The purchase will build up Aberdeen’s Japan living account, that ranked at 57 properties with a complete valuation of roughly JPY150 billion ($1.2 billion) as of June.
On The Other Hand, Weave Living’s Japan profile has grown to roughly JPY110 billion since it went into the marketplace in 2023.
