Hyatt to debut Alila brand in Japan with Hakone mountain retreat
Hyatt Hotels has publicized an agreement with Fujita Corp to establish Alila Sengokuhara Hakone– put in the district of Sengokuhara in the mountainous location of Hakone– marking the Alila brand name’s initial real property in Japan. The property is set to begin in 2028.
When it comes to dining, Alila Sengokuhara Hakone’s dining establishment and bar will definitely support locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from close-by fields, forests and water– aligning with the brand’s dedication to culinary experiences rooted in their setting. The menus will certainly present flavours of the region, connecting guests through its ingredients to Hakone and the more comprehensive Japanese landscape.

The hotel’s other highlights include a yoga veranda surrounded by the natural landscape, offering guests a serene room to inhale, exercise and reconnect. The resort will also offer curated Alila Moments– trademark encounters that permit visitors to immerse themselves in Hakone’s practices and lifestyle past a standard resort stay.
Positioned within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Forest, Alila Sengokuhara Hakone rises in an area recognized for its seasonal beauty, art galleries, volcanic terrain, and panoramic viewpoints in the direction of Mount Kintoki.
“We prepare for Alila Sengokuhara Hakone turning into a new benchmark for luxury resorts in Japan,” states Yoji Okumura, president of Fujita Corp.
The resort will sign up with an international profile of 19 existing Alila real estates, consisting of 13 throughout Asia. The label’s intro in Japan will bring Hyatt’s Japan profile to 10 brands.
The resort is designed to blend into the natural surroundings, with Japanese company Kengo Kuma and Associates designated as the project’s architect.
Centred on the restorative practice of Japanese onsens, the building provides 60 guestrooms, featuring 11 suites, that included a special all-natural hot spring bath each.
